Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno), 20 January 2022 – Love Your Skin. This is the message of which the athletes will be ambassadors for on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd January, when they will be competing in the Alpine Ski World Cup in Cortina d’Ampezzo, for what is one of the most traditional and fascinating events of the female competition.
Love Your Skin will be the message that will be displayed on the race bibs of the athletes, in both days of competition and the bibs will be branded Pirelli, a company that in 2022, celebrates 150 years of foundation and that has always been close to Cortina’s events.
“Love Your Skin is an invitation to the prevention of skin diseases and more specifically to skin protection for those practicing sports at high altitudes.” said Anna Bosetti, head of sponsorship and PR of the organizing committee of the World Cup in Cortina. “This is an issue of particular importance that, however, is still little known and debated. With this initiative we want to put it under the international spotlight, contributing to a work of awareness that concerns everyone but, in particular, women.”
“The idea of the messages on the bibs was born a few years ago, in the belief that the great sporting events, together with the champions who are the participants, are a fundamental vehicle for transmitting positive messages that affect all areas of life,” says Anna Bosetti. “Love your skin continues along the path traced in the recent past, in the conviction that an event such as the World Cup in Cortina can also be a significant contribution to cultural growth and greater awareness of health issues.”
In this sense, the initiative that will be proposed on Friday, January 21st, will also contribute to this goal. This is an evening of information, entitled “Love Your Skin“, organized by the OC of the World Cup in Cortina in collaboration with Lilt, the Italian League for the fight against cancer, and Unifarco, a company founded in Belluno and formed by pharmacists that offers cosmetic, nutraceutical, dermatological and make-up products that are effective, safe, and cutting-edge.
“We are happy and grateful to be part of such an attractive sport event as the Alpine Ski World Cup, also because of the close link with our territory” says Andrea Baratto, Marketing Manager Unifarco Biomedical. “The central message of the event is particularly close to our heart: as a company, in fact, we are committed daily to promote the health and well-being of people, at 360 degrees. This also goes through raising awareness of the importance of protecting our skin when we expose ourselves to solar radiation: it is essential to make an informed choice about the sunscreen product and its mode of use to obtain proper protection during each season of the year, without forgetting the winter, especially when doing sports at high altitudes.”
“From our Lilt observatory, we see that skin cancers are on the rise and there is a lot of demand at our dermatology clinics,” emphasizes Dr. Pier Anna Dal Mas, president of Lilt Belluno. “It should also be noted that in these times of pandemic, many preventive visits are skipped, not only because of the delay in hospitals but also because people are afraid and delay check-ups. Knowledge and prevention are essential, so we enthusiastically accepted the invitation to be involved in this initiative“.
The informative evening of tomorrow Friday, January 21 will take place at the Sala Cultura of Cortina d’Ampezzo, in Largo Poste, starting at 6 p.m. Speakers will be Andrea Baratto, Marketing Manager Unifarco Biomedical (Unifarco), Giulia Coran, oncology pharmacist, and Pier Anna Dal Mas, president of Lilt Belluno section.
